Blogtober Day 3: Tasty Tuesday

Happy Tuesday! I hope this post finds you well!

Last Tuesday, after I grocery shopped and put everything up, I did not feel like cooking. I am sure many of you can relate to this. We’ve been trying to eat a little better, so I also knew I did not want take-out. I remembered I had bought a few things for times like this. See below…..

Less than 10 minutes, less than 300 calories, less than 20 carbs, 10 points on WW, less than $10! Delicious! Husband approved!

What do you do when you don’t feel like cooking but also don’t want to eat out? What did you have that was taste recently?

Blogtober Day 2: Motivated Monday

Are you wearing your positive pants?

Hi all! Happy Monday! Just like Monday is a state of mind, so is positivity. We all get to choose what our state of mind is when approaching any day or situation.

I deal with situations on most days in which I have to make the decision to put on my positive pants. It really helps the outcome be much better than my brain originally imagined. For example, I work in a pharmacy part-time. There is this one particular patient that is always grumpy and honestly a little nasty. After my first two encounters with him, I decided that I would be over the top nice to him in the future because I didn’t know what he might be going through. The next few times I saw him, I smiled big and very excitedly greeted him, thanked him for his visit, etc. After a few weeks had passed, I saw him exiting the pharmacy as I was enetering, and he smiled at me and waved! It was very touching and made my day!

Is there a specific day of the week or situation you are dealing with that you need to adjust your mindset? Are you choosing to wear your positivity pants today? I would love your input on this topic. How has changing your mindset/state of mind helped change the outcome of a particular situation?

Be Peacful,

Happy First Day of Fall!

Good morning! I woke up to 63° weather this morning, so I’m enjoying my coffee outside! It is Florida, though, so it won’t last I’ll enjoy what I can.

I wanted to pop by with a quick update. I know I’ve been MIA. Anyone who knows me knows that I believe the more times you try, the better chance you have to succeed. It’s when you stop trying that you fail. With that said, I did restart healthier eating for weight loss on the 6th and am done 5lbs. I do plan to start posting my habit & goal tracking again soon and plan to participate in Blogtober again this year!

I am as determined as ever to reach my goal no matter how many times I have to try. I do plan to meet my weight goal by the end of 2023, though!

As always, I would love to hear from you! What are you working on? Do you have any end of year goals?

Be Peaceful,

~Nettie

Blogtober Day 31: Motivated Monday

Today, instead of sharing a Monday Motavtional quote, I will share what I am motavted to start……… No Excuse November!

No Excuse November! Make the Time, Plan, Check It Off!

For No Excuse November, I am challenging myself to continue to post daily as well as take steps to establish some new habits. The daily posting and the new habits are all in line with my larger goals, both short and long term.

I will continue with themed daily posts, but some of the themes will change to better fit the No Excuse November theme and my planned habits. I will also start to incude some vlogs.

Last Tuesday in my teaser post announcing No Excuse November, I mentioned that one of my goals was better routines, especially for wake-up and bedtime, which will start with early wake-up times. Below are all five habits I will be incorporating throughout November.

  • Wake-up by 5:45 am
  • 20 Minutes Activity
  • Track All Food
  • 15 minutes Personal Growth Reading
  • 30 Minutes Blog/Vlog Work/Research

My goal is to complete each habit 5 out of 7 days. Below is the tracker I will be using.

I hope you will join me in No Excuse November, while we elimate excuses in order to work towards our goals and habits. Share in the comments what habits or goals you are working towards and any steps you plan to take to get there.

Be Peaceful,

~Nettie

Blogtober Day 30: Step it up sunday

Simple steps we can take while preparing for the week to take it to the next level………

My weekend was pretty busy, so my time to prep for the week was limited. I knew I really had to utilize my time wisely. Sunday morning, I made waffles for breakfast. I decided to double the recipe, so I would have a couple extra for later in the week. Since I cook breakfast every morning, I knew this would save me some time during the week, therefore making my mornings smoother.

For waffles and pancakes, I like to use Millville Protein with Oats mix from Aldi’s. I like to add egg whites (1/3 cup per batch) to add more protein and make them a little fluffier. Sometimes, I add chopped peacans and chocolate chips (bake believe or lily’s brand).

What was something you did last weekend to prepare for the workweek?

Blogtober Day 29: Spooky Saturday

For our last Spooky Saturday of Blogtober, we will talk about the Winchester House……..

Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester House: There are lots of stories surrounding this house that can never be completed. Sarah Winhester, heir to Winchester firearms, bought this large house and began renovations immediately. Legand has it that work continued 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and only stopped after her death. The reasons she insisted on this continuous work being done on the house differ. The most popular store is that the ghost of people killed by a Winchester firearm would show up and need somewhere to live, so she was building them rooms.

Have you heard this story before? If so, why do you believe she continued building on the house? There is a movie, too!, have you seen it? I guess he house offers tours too. https://winchestermysteryhouse.com/sarahs-story/

Blogtober Day 26: Wellness Wednesday

During the month of October, we are focusing on two deminsions of wellness each wednesday. Last week, we focused on the occupational and spiritual deminsions. Our final week will be environmental and financial.

Enviromental: Your wellness as it relates to natural resources and environmental preservation.

Financial: Knowledge, planning, and managing financies.

I am sure there are lots of things we can do to promote wellness in both of these deminsions. For environmental, we do recycle and make efforts not to waste resources. As far as financial, I believe in budgets and trying to plan ahead for things. I feel like these are probably the two deminsions that I need to put more focus on.

What do you do to support/promote your environmental and financial wellness? What demisions do you think you need to put more focus on?

Be Peaceful,

~Nettie
