Welcome 2024! What does a New Year mean to you?

Happy New Year! I hope you all had nice holidays filled with love, laughter, peace, great people & good food! I know mine were all of the above!

As we enter into a new year, a lot of us reflect on the past year. What we had planned to accomplish versus what we actually accomplished. The changes last year brought, the ups, the downs, the goods, the bads, etc.

For many of us, a new year means a new beginning, a fresh start, a clean slate, etc! For some of us, it’s the first day of season, month, or week! We have so many options to start or restart on our goals!

I personally do not set resolutions but do believe in the power of goals, habits, plans, etc. These things can come from resolutions. I do not believe that we have to wait for a new year to make changes or start working on our goals, but I understand the symbolism.

I do believe that we can’t succeed without starting. I believe that we don’t fail unless we stop trying. A dream is a goal without a plan. The first step to achieving your dreams is to make them a goal by giving them a plan! Then you just have to start on the plan, as many times as needed!

What does the New Year mean to you? Did you set resolutions this year?

Starts Tomorrow…..10-Week Challenge!

Hey all! Happy Friday! As I mentioned in my last post, I am determined to reach my goals! I have been taking steps towards my goals since October. I have made a lot of progress in my dedication, determination, and follow-thru. A couple of the things I have worked on and accomplished are surviving Blogtober, starting a healthier lifestyle, and losing almost 30 lbs.

Most recently, I started a part-time second job in order to work on some financial goals. This has led me to realize how precious time really is and to appreciate my free time much more. I have also realized that I need to take control of my time in order to continue reaching my goals. So, I am doing a 10-week challenge, leading up to my next birthday. This challenge will guide me in taking control of my time and allow me to continue working on my goals.

The 10-week challenge will run from 04/08/2023 thru 06/16/2023. Each week, I will have a new challenge for myself to help develop certain habits. I will list the weekly challenges below. I may need to tweak these as I go if something isn’t working how I expected.

Week 1 4/8/2023-4/14/2023: Develop a daily schedule. Include 5:45 wake up, time for exercise, chores, food prep, cooking, self-care, bible study & errands.

Week 2 4/15/2023-4/21/2023: Tweak schedule. Make 1 blog post. WW Blue dot 5 out of 7 days.

Week 3 04/22/2023-04/28/2023: Continue daily schedule but with a wake-up time of 5:40. Continue WW Blue dot 5 out of 7 days. Make 1 blog post. Begin Habit tracking.

Week 4 04/29/2023-05/05/2023: Continue daily schedule but with a wake-up time of 5:35. Continue WW Blue dot 5 out of 7 days. Make 2 blog posts. Continue Habit tracking.

Week 5 05/6/2023-05/12/2023 & Week 6 05/13/2023-05/19/2023: Continue daily schedule, with a wake-up time of 5:35. Continue WW Blue dot 5 out of 7 days. Make 2 blog  posts. Continue Habit tracking. Start on the Optavia 4&2 plan.

Week 7 05/20/2023-05/26/2023 & 05/27/2023-06/02/2023: Continue daily schedule, but with a wake-up time of 5:30. Continue WW Blue dot 5 out of 7 days. Make 3 blog  posts. Continue Habit tracking. Continue on the Optavia 4&2 plan.

Week 9 06/03/2023-06/09/2023 & Week 10 06/10/2023-06/16/2023: Continue daily schedule, but with a wake-up time of 5:30. Continue WW Blue dot 5 out of 7 days. Make 3 blog  posts. Continue Habit tracking. Start on the Optavia 5&1 plan.

What steps are you taking to help you achieve your goal(s)? What goal(s) are you currently working on or plan to start working on? Do you have a daily schedule? Do you habit track? Do you follow a specific eating plan or track your food?

I look forward to hearing from you and sharing this challenge with you.

Be Peaceful,

Fabulous February: Wellness Wednesday – Heart Health Week 2

Happy Wednesday! We made it halfway through another work week and to another Wellness Wednesday dedicated to Heart Health.

This month Bravera Hospital is doing a 28 day heart challenge. You can sign up for daily emails here and catch up on missed challenges here.

The Day 3 challenge was to Step Up and Get Exercising. Per the article walking 20 minutes a day for 15 weeks can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Are you a walker or a step counter? I aim for at least 5,000 steps a day and a few weeks back started walking 20 minutes a day at least 5 days a week. Share your step goal or exercise routine with us as well as anything esle you are doing this month for Heart Health.

Be Peaceful,

~Nettie
