Change! Consistency! Choice!

Just a few Thoughts/Quotes regarding Life’s Changes.

I was told (by a boss when I was 18) that the only consistent thing in life was change and it was up to us how we handle it. I believe the majority of us have an initial gut reaction that may not be very positive but we GET TO choose how long we stay in that place and how we move forward.

Thoughts to ponder on this Thursday

Today at work we watched a Ted Talk by David Marquet, “Turn the ship around” and these two thoughts are on my brain.

What would happen if shifted:

-our need for control and focused on Being in control of yourself vs being controlling?

-practiced making deliberate action vs impulsive reaction?

Let me know what your thoughts are.

What is a “Habit”?

Hey everyone! I hope you are having a nice week so far!

Over the weekend we talked about making “One Tiny Itty Bitty Change” to help your long-term health goal. Mine was using Stevia in my coffee instead of sugar. At first this was a huge change because I’ve been using sugar in my coffee for 20+ years. After a couple of days it became much easier so now I am on my way to breaking one habit and building a new.

Tonight I want to talk about the word “habit” and what it means. There are a lot of definitions but my favorite is: A habit is something we do without even thinking about it. It is our usual manner of behavior, or a behavior pattern acquired by frequent repetition. (Joyce Meyer).

Basically a habit can be anything we do regularly, normally, whether intentional or not, and good or bad. (*See more definitions below)

Name one habit that you would like to develop (or improve). I would like to walk more.

What would be a good (small) way you could start developing this habit. I could start walking laps around my yard while dinner is cooking on a couple of nights a week.

Share your thoughts in the comments!

Be Peaceful!
